Winter & Fall

Winter
The white sun sends down a blinding glare,
Making the chalky snow dazzle in the crisp air,
The piercing white sheet lay as far as far can be,
More flakes fall down into the sparkling, shimmering sea,
Children make snowmen ,angels and more,
While others go caroling door to door,
You no longer see red cheeks and noses that glow,
Because the first blades of grass and flowers show,
Which causes winter to soon disappear,
And the warmth of spring to come and leer.
Fall
The crisp fall air whips my chapped face,
I watch as the gold, orange leaves fall in their decomposing place,
I hear the soft crunch of the frost bitten leaves underneath my feet,
I catch a glimpse of scurrying squirrels collecting nuts across the street,
The big red ball slowly leaves my sight,
Darkness creeps in creating shadows against the pale moonlight,
The green blades of grass soon disappear,
Animals no longer come out and leer,
I watch as the last leaf slowly floats down,
And the first fresh snowflake comes into town.
