A Quartet
four poems by Megan Litsheim, age 11
Black!
Black is the dark , dark night sky
Black is the feeling you get when you have to say goodbye
Black is the shadows that follow behind
Black is the feeling you get when there is something you cannot find
Black is when you shut your eyes
Black is when a crow flies
Black is God's deep, rich soil after a heavy spring rain
Black is when you feel pain
Black is a witch's brim
Black is the deep dark secrets hidden within
White!
White is a tear from a childs face
White is a princess's royal grace
White is little foot prints in the snow
White is Santa Clause going ho, ho, ho
White is a cloud in the gentle sky
White is a seagull about to take it's first fly
White is winters chilly air
White is a mothers love and care
Rose!
The petals so soft
The colors so bright
Oh, it fills your heart with delight
The smell so sweet
The leaves so green
Oh, it's a wonderful thing to have seen
The gift of love
The sign of care
Oh, it makes you feel as light as air
Evening River!
The reflection of the moon shining on the river water,
the reflection of the stars look as if they were glitter of confetti after a
party
The smell of the water reminds me of the raindrops falling at night , soothing my thoughts
The crickets wild in conversation, it sounds like a lullaby song, soft, gentle and peaceful
I stroke the water at my feet and dream of all the wishes dreams...
...that now come true in my mind
