My name is Mandy and I live in the North Shore of the island of Oahu. Oahu is the main island of the state of Hawaii. You might have heard about some of the famous beaches here, like Sunset Beach or Pipeline. I think that it is a very unique place to live.

There is a very easy-going kind of spirit here, and everybody is cool with each other. In fact, I can't remember the last time I heard a racial slur. The ethnicity is just so diverse here, there are people of every kind of race and color, black, white, asian, and for the most part everyone gets along!!!!

The beach is a three minute walk from my house. Occasionally I'll see a turtle or two. Sometimes my dad "throws net," (cast net fishing) or sometimes he will even lay a net overnight to catch lobsters, the most he caught at one time was around 50! And of course, my dad surfs, too!! I'm still learning how to surf (I really SUCK at it ).

Well' that's my little corner of the universe . . . I love it!!
