My name is Shannon. I am eight years old. I live on a farmlet (14 acres) at Lorneville Invercargill, New Zealand.
A week before Christmas my brother and I go with Mum to a nursery where we pick out a live Christmas tree, which we later plant out on the farm.
Dad, Mum and Andrew help me to decorate the tree and the lounge. On Christmas eve we all go to the Makerewa Country Club where we sing carols by torch light.
It is really late when we go to bed. It is hard to go to sleep thinking about Santa coming.
On Christmas day we open our stockings from Santa on Mum and Dad's bed. We eat all the goodies and play until it's time to have breakfast. After breakfast we get to open the presents from under the tree.
We get dressed and go to church. After church we go to Grandma and Grandad where we open more presents. Grandma cooks up a turkey for Christmas. I love Christmas day. It is fun and I love presents.
