I live in Brooklyn, New York. I love it here. Everything is at the
palm of your hand. You are exposed to so many different cultures, and traditions.
There is basically a neighborhood for every nationality!
And only about ten minutes away, is Manhattan! I've been to the World Trade Center,
the Empire State Building, And the Statue af Liberty.
If you are ever going on vacation, try and come to Manhattan or Brooklyn.
More Brooklyn!! My name is Laura and I live in Brooklyn, which is a borough of New York City.
Brooklyn is a great place to live because there are so many different cultures here.
In NYC, the most people live in Brooklyn, only a few minutes away on subway to Manhattan.
I live near the biggest park in the borough, Prospect Park which is 4 acres of forest,
playgrounds, bandshells, two lakes(one has a waterfall in it), and an iceskating rink.
Brooklyn is also famous for her bridges....the Brooklyn Bridge, which connects us and
Manhattan was the longest in America when it was built, but then the Verrazzano
Bridge was even longer when it was built between Brooklyn and Staten Island.
Brooklyn has its own museum, filled with ancient Egyptian art, and a botanical
garden full of beautiful rose and Japanese gardens. We evn invented a few words
in Brooklyn...like the word 'parkway' named after Eastern Parkway, so named because
it ran along the whole east side of Prospect Park. People all say that Brooklyn!
invented pizza, and we have the best pizzarias here. George Washington took his
troops through Prospect Park, and it helped America win the Revolutionary War.
By hiding in the forest(it was not a park yet), Washington and his men could
sneak food and weapons to other soldiers. There are lots of famous people from
Brooklyn, such as John Travolta and Foxy Brown. Usually, me and my best friend Victoria walk all around Brooklyn....there's so
much to see and do here...
